Our 75th Anniversary
The business was opened on the 5th November 1950 by Mr W P Lewis, with 2 petrol pumps and a small workshop. All vehicles were accommodated and engine rebores were a speciality in our area. Son, Stuart joined in late 1950’s and became a technician. Expansion into car sales followed and Stuart brought Contract Hire into Pembrokeshire. In the early 70’s the company was approached by Avon Garage in Maesteg to sell new Opel cars and in 1978 we became the official Opel Dealer for Pembrokeshire. Expansion of the business continued with a larger workshop and an all new Showroom. Staff numbers rose to over 20. In 1981 Opel merged with Vauxhall and in 1987 Opel left the UK market leaving us with Vauxhall cars and vans.
W P Lewis passed away in 1999 and the company became Limited. Stuart passed away in 2012 and Steve, the grandson now is Managing Director with Stuart’s son Martyn also as Director. Current staff is now at 17.
14 consecutive Customer Excellence Awards make us the only Retailer in Wales to have achieved it.
